Fixtatik is a design resource website with a pure cause. This is probably the first time I’ve come across a designer that has used the money he makes from commissions to donate to his charity of preference. In this case, Gregg is saving thousands of lives by providing water to the poverty stricken nations of the world. Fixtatik is donating to charities such as Socialvibe, (RED), Charity: Water, The ONE Campaign, DATA , and Oxfam America. (more…)

Rewindd is a Myspace resource website owned by seventeen year old, Louie, who resides in Florida. Of course, I know, why is a Myspace related site being submitted into the gallery? Well, I know that personally I’ve had a few bad rows with that dreaded social networking monster, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people out there who try and make the experience a little bit better. And so, I welcome the newest member of the Roodesigns gallery, whose layouts can be seen in thousands of user’s pages. (more…)

Many on-liners are trying to discover a more creative edge to graphic design rather than those badly-coded teen sites that get a million hits a day. Welcome to the ever-so-creative StreetCarCircus.net! Sarah-Jayne gives those creativity-searching people a breath of fresh air. Her website layouts are always very intricate and detailed, using only her textures and her images. The site contains many useful resources, such as many of her homemade scans and brushed. Also, she displays her sketches and arts to the world on her website. Although she may not be at the epitome of popularity, people love the way she has such a different idea of art!

At Voltagebox you’re bound to find something that’s for you. The unique and different layout, is one that catches the eye. With a mixture of Disney characters and chocolate bars, carefully collaged together with flower patterns, creates a somewhat.. perfect layout. Shur keeps busy, as there are plenty of tutorials for you to learn from. Whether you want to learn about FTP, Photoshop or cutenews, it’s all there. Now moving onto the content. There’s heaps of premades here! Ranging from “blinkies” to colour palettes, your website will be in harmony with these lovely created palettes. At One Destiny, there’s plenty for everyone. With loads of tutorials and a fantastic display of resources for your website, there’s no need to go anywhere else. Nicky has worked hard to maintain a perfect website. The lovely vibrant colours go perfectly together. And although the layout is simple, it does just the trick. It’s pleasant and refreshing. There are beautifully coded layouts, in case you fancy a change from your own. Artistic and unique brushes to spice up your layouts and cute pixels in case your website just needs that small but effective decoration. There’s no fault here, Nicky’s created a fantastic website with loads of visitor content.

Web Designer Wall is a unique and extremely helpful website run by the very talented Nick La. Though not exactly new (it opened last year), this website deserves all the recognition it can get. This one-of-a-kind find offers not only flawless tutorials but trends too, which offer inspiration to the many web designers on the world wide web. There is also a ‘general’ section where free components are given away and general helpful news posted. All this and Web Designer Wall is only run by one person who also has two other websites to run and update! Not something many others could manage.

Who ever said that graphics made up a website? Well, John D Boardley of iLT (I love typography) could probably tell you a thing or two. This lover of “fonts, typefaces, and all things typographical” has opened my eyes to the many different classifications of fonts- serifs and san serifs. It’s surprising how a different font style can make, or break, a website… Thank goodness iLT is here to help get us on the right path and away from the dangers of being naive about the subject. Cannelle is owned by twenty-one year old Stefanie, or Stef for short, who resides in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. From a glance, it is easy to tell Stef’s experience with her chosen technique for her current layout, vectors, and the overall design process. Saying that, I’m sure no one would be surprised to learn that this gifted website owner recently finished studying graphic design at College Marie-Victorin college. Let us all give her a warm round of applause, because she has shown us an example of what we could all do- focus our education on what we love.
