Please try not to sound so condescending. Maybe he learns fast therefore a year doesn’t mean anything. He happens to manage and run a successful website so he must be doing something right.  Yes he may have tutorials up and the original tutorial may be at the link you provided but that doesn’t mean EVERYONE knows where that specific tutorial is. To be quite honest his site seems more put together then yours, and spelling errors are minor mistakes.

Anyways, I like the site I like how the layout is compact and organized although it doesn’t stand out to me. I don’t like the random text on the top left side, maybe if there was a table for it.

Overall it’s a nice blog with some content for it’s visitors even if there isn’t a huge variety.

Can you tell me how that was condescending? I was merely stating an opinion. Am I supposed to just say that every site looks spectacular? The description states that if you’re lost with Wordpress then you should check out his site when I find that his Wordpress tutorials are not strong. I find that you’re being a little bit of a hypocrite, since you like to take a jab at me every time you don’t agree with me. Ex: “She probably gets more hits then you ever will.”, “His site’s more put together then yours.”, “90% of teenagers have a Myspace. Get with the picture.” And sorry, Roo, for commenting so much. You must think I’m annoying.

Clearly my site needs work.  I take the criticism with open arms and appreciate everyones comments.  I think it counts for something though that I have moved around over 6 times over the course of one year.  And, as stated - sometimes a tutorial needs to be written so that it’s of better understanding for the “common webmaster” meaning, the BIG SITES just make this so much more confusing, I think when someone can paraphrase and make things easier for everyone it’s of some benefit to more people.

Any ways, thanks Roo, and everyone else has commented.  I like the whole review-ish type comments, they help!  By all means, if something is horrible, just say it.

Well I mean maybe if you had something nice to say. I am not expecting you to say every site is spectacular because I don’t do that nor should anyone. This site is about being honest yes, but you should try not to sound so mean. Call me old fashion but I like to boost peoples egos instead of tearing them down. He is well aware that he isn’t the best out there but at least he tries, and he tries to help those who may be lost. I don’t know about you but tutorials on the Wordpress homepage can sometimes be hard to understand.

His site looks like he has put a lot of time in effort into it and I think we should encourage that.

Good job Jay, i’ve been visiting your site for a while now ever since I saw a comment of yours on Rooeh.

I’m sorry, but like I said, every time you disagree with me you insult me so you’re not really following through with what you say. Of course, I know he tries, I didn’t say anywhere in my comments that he doesn’t try. I was just giving him suggestions. How is anyone going to learn anything when you don’t tell them how they can improve? I never said my site was the “greatest” and I’m always up for suggestions on improvement. At least I don’t cry if someone doesn’t think my site is great. I work on it, I fix it and I practice on things I’m not necessarily strong at. You can’t start out at something and automatically think you’re going to be great at it.

Gosh!  I feel like a great deal of this is my fault.  In all honesty, I agree with BOTH of you.  On Kieu’s stand point, I wouldn’t consider her criticism “harsh” but I would consider it constructive.   Believe it or not, she has said some beneficial things and I’m grateful for them.  Anthony, for you I agree that when someone is giving feed back that should say something both positive and negative to make sure a designer, or any person for that matter isn’t completely thrown under a train.  I’ll admit that before reading Kieu’s explanations I was ready to give up and take my content off.  She’s right, for the most part - and so are you Anthony; but both for very different reasons.  What would make me ever-so happy would be to see you guys tone it down and consider your “debate” about my site in a more civil fashion.  It makes me seem like some where in the middle, my site is responsible for all this bickering.  Say we call it to a halt?

How does that sentence make me a hypocrite. You can give constructive criticism you can tell you don’t like their site but you should say it in a way that doesn’t make you seem like a total witch.

I quite like this site. The layout is neat, non-girly and still awesome at the same time
The tutorials are farely detailed, but not to a level that makes it sound robotic And it has lots of images you can follow as well.
The only problem I suppose is that my paintshop broke so I can’t experiment with those tutorials :/ but that isn’t your fault so I guess it doesn’t count as constructive criticism.
Other than that all I can say I guess is, keep adding tutorials. You’ve earnt yourself another regular visitor
